{The 5 Top 2010 Boutique Openings In Los Angeles}

600 Hundred Boutique
600 south spring st. #101
Downtown, LA

www.sixhundredla.com

I first discovered this Men’s and Women’s boutique, during a Bloggers Café meeting Fashion Bloggers of LA who are members of Two Point Oh LA. It was just us 25 blogger and them, the day it opened. We all couldn’t help but buy something and the owners are a few really cool guys who represent LA well. The shop is about the size of my kitchen, but squeezes in some of the best pieces from local designer. Small, and somewhat hidden (unless you are DTLA regular), I was happy to discover this little gem of Los Angeles. Their prices are relatively priced and you’ll find pieces you can’t find at your typical Bloomingdales or Barneys. I walked away with a few charm necklaces and discovered a few other brands well known to the area. Right now they are carrying Laeken, Han cholo – jewelry, Bl.o – jewelry, Electric Denim Company, Love nail Tree, Cavoi, Spectacles for humans, LOADED clothing, kush collection, and even more Los Angeles designers.

I’ve raved about this boutique before (you can read it HERE), but really, this store welcomes you with a smile as the owners are delightful, the pieces are hand selected and feature designers you probably have never heard of. And, they throw a fantastic party so you probably should stop in and get your name on the guest list. Located  in West LA on Sawtelle, a up and coming street  just west of the 405, it’s a little hidden  which means you will be praised for the top you purchased the no one else you know owns! You have to stop in and see Rachel and Tracey, tell them Style Wax Poetic sent you. Also, look for ODYLINE, one of my favorite brands of the moment.

Echo Park Independent Co-op

LOCALS ONLY: E.P.I.C. co-founders Rhianon Jones and Tristan Scott (via Style Section LA)
Newly developed and discovered, Echo Park is becoming a spot to be known, if you didn’t already know. Echo Park Independent Co-op opened this year, and threw a party that was quite the spot to be. Inspiration comes from Local Talent in their surroundings, the renaissance of Echo Park and the longstanding Eastside culture. They say it’s their goal to be the social bridge and leader for the community in fashion, art, music, visual artists, and environment and believe to be on par with NY designers. Coming from New York City, we like that! Go see them in the heart of Echo Park at 1712 W Sunset Blvd,  Echo Park. www.shopepicla.com/

Alexander McQueen
8379 Melrose Ave.
West Hollywood

The eccentric prince of British fashion has launched an L.A. shop. Sun streams into the store and bounces off immaculate white displays, none of which touch the floor of terrazzo and mother-of-pearl: A blazer with a detachable feather collar appears to float on a rack. Only McQueen’s ready-to-wear lines for men and women are carried here (but not the lower-priced McQ), although there are plenty of his skull-print scarves and ties. (LA Mag)

Curate Couture
11973 San Vicente Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90049
310.472.1086

This store recently re-opened their doors to all and what a curated selection they have!  If you’ve been searching for that specific designer piece or if you need a little assistance in putting things together, Curate Couture is the place to be. Some designers include Yves Saint Lauren, Balenciaga, Stella Mc Cartney, Lanvin, Courreges, Phillip Lim, Christian Louboutin, Missoni, Prada, Marni, Givenchy, Issey Miyake, Alaia, Chanel, Emilio Pucci, Giambattista Valli, Rick Owens….just to name a few. Their prices are extremely relative and the owners are fantastic. You should go for a visit!
