Lately, I’ve been wearing a lot of red lipstick. There’s something about the perfect shade of red on blondes, that brightens up any look. This post was also inspired by my new Chloe sunglasses from Ditto. You may have read about this genius new E-Tailer on Refinery29.com, as their technology makes shopping for sunglasses online, easier than ever. This style of Chloe sunglasses has been so popular, they’ve repeated it for four season. It you like it, now is the time to score them as they are finally on their way out.
The skirt was great find from Nordstrom a couple years ago by Alexander Wang. It’s a comfortable jersey material and it can be dressed up or dressed down. All it needs is a simple tank or t-shirt, sandals to be dressed down and it’s easily from day to night. I think this style was also repeated for a couple collections. I paired a menswear button down t-shirt for a more casual look, depending on wear you are going.

L.A.-based quartet The Endangered recently released their self-titled EP “Calling On You,” which was produced by Grammy-winning producer Steven Miller. I know you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Comprised of vocalist Maiya Sykes, recently performed at the BET Awards in a choir honoring Whitney Houston, guitarist Nick Block, bassist Frank Abraham and drummer Gene Coye, the band’s recent success proves their organic start was for a reason. Expect a mix of soul + rock and roll, easy listening, and beautiful sounds – think Erika Badu meets The Police. Listen below.

I’m designing my apartment, and boy is it stressful! I wish they had a Forever 21 (actually Zara) for home design. While I know most people are huge fan of Ikea, I just can’t seem to find what I need there. Wish me luck as I aspire to design my apartment just as beautiful as the above photos. Stay tuned…

I’ve been really into hip-hop lately, and going away from my traditional indie music love. Maybe it’s the influence from my last relationship (he’s a music producer), or maybe it’s the Los Angeles influence. Whatever it is, I’m loving it! Indie music is all sounding too much alike these days. Miguel has put out a few songs I’m really into. Adorn is one of them! Check out more available on Soundcloud.
What great day at the Two Point Oh LA picnic. I’ve been a member since almost the beginning, and finally my schedule allowed me to attend. More details on that to come, but first, I had to try out my new shoes from Sole Society. Â Sole Society prides themselves on delivering on-trend shoes at surprisingly affordable prices. Members enjoy access to a new exclusive style each and every day. I had the pleasure of meeting them in person today at the Two Point Oh LA picnic, and trying out some amazing on-trend shoes. Â I was eying these great wedges, but realized I needed to be smart and chose what I needed to complete my wardrobe – colored heels.
The Nikki Heels are sooo comfortable, and retail for only $49.99.  They’re also offering $25 dollars off your first pair of shoes until 8/31/2012 . I know, amazing deal! Just enter TPO25 at checkout.
Summer is in full swing and at this point in the season you’ve managed to get some color on your legs that have been hiding all winter. The time has come to break out those fun, patterned summer shorts! They’re fun to wear and easily amp up any outfit. They’re great in the day with wedges or sandals and perfect at night with a blazer and statement jewelry.
Need some inspiration? See below! Pattern shorts are great addition to color blocking and for the bold fashionista, mix and match prints.
And it all started with a pair of jean shorts. We all know those weekend days that start at brunch, continue with a little afternoon shopping, maybe some relaxing in the park with a good book and your man, then before you know it it’s dinner time and you need to pull it together quick for round two! We’ve all been there and we know it’s always easier with a little planning ahead.
The first outfit, the day look, is summer chic and perfect for day time east or west coast. It’s on trend, tying in a sheer nude top. It’s comfortable with a fancier nude flat, not too revealing or tight and versatile for riding bikes, a walk on the beach or appropriate for a day roof party at the Standard. Turn it into a night look with a bright heel, throw on an over-sized t-shirt, add a red lip, your boyfriend’s blazer and through in a night time clutch. While keeping most pieces dark blacks, it dresses up your shorts, and gives you the ability to get creative with color with your shoes and/or accessories! The night look is a mix of edge, class, funk and chic style.
20 minutes of stress free getting ready, you boyfriend and friends are pleasantly surprised of your look and not having to wait to long and your ready for another night of fun!! Don’t you just love weekends?!
