My New Look | Curly Hair Extensions Before and After

Every now and again we get the urge for a brand new hair style. We often stick to the same old hair style routine that and play it safe, but lately I’ve been wanting a change. Today I’m sharing my new look! I’m embracing my curly hair with curly hair extensions, before and after photos below.

I’ve always had challenging hair and am so envious of people that have perfect hair right out of the shower. My issue with my hair is that it’s half curly and half straight (I’m sure some of you experience this too!). From years of processing and straightening my hair, my natural curl just isn’t the same as it used to be. It’s a little bit frizzy, it’s not as curly as it once was; simply put my hair is confused. So I wanted to give myself the opportunity to let my curl be at it’s natural state and hopefully in the process get it back to healthy by not putting a lot of heat on it.

So we determined that the best option for me right now was to add some curly hair extensions and let my hair be it’s natural state of curliness. I’ve been working with Kelli Christine from Daze Babes for years and I always get compliments on my color and hair, but she’s really an expert at hair extensions. If you have blonde curly hair you’ll notice there aren’t a lot options for you when it comes to hair extensions; curly hair mostly comes in black and brown. Kelli found me a hair that was pretty close to my natural so that I can literally get out of the shower and go! That is dream life for me.

Some things to keep in mind when getting extensions:

  • Your hair needs to match the color of the extensions to look normal or you need to die it to match. This is where a stylist comes in to help you shape the extensions and color correct. Trust me, you don’t want to achieve this on your own.
  • Get your hair at your healthiest state before you add your extensions! We did an Olaplex treatment to get my hair as healthy as possible before putting extensions in. If you don’t know any Olaplex,  follow Kelli where she does live tutorials with them! It’s really the best product out there right now and Kelli will tell you all about why.
  • Curly hair requires a lot more oil than straight hair, so a daily oil will be part of your routine. Right now I’m using an argon oil from a brand I really love, Eva NYC. Argan oil feeds hair with vitamins and nutrients, while Keravis™ delivers optimal anti-breakage benefits and is scientifically proven to dramatically increase strength and flexibility. I love the way it feels on my hands too, it’s so moisturizing!
  • The best part about these extensions is that I can wear them straight or curly! You may have noticed me on my Instagram wearing it both ways – I love the flexibility.

Long hair is something we can’t live without! It’s literally one of my best accessories and I love the way long hair makes me feel.

To find out more, follow Kelli Christine on Instagram and her website here. She’s available for editorial, hair styling, color and extensions. She’s not taking any new clients now but I urge you to get on her waiting list, you won’t regret it! She’s the sweetest and the most talented, you’ll really enjoy your time with her. Xx
