{New Wool Hat, Floral Kimono Top and A Maxi Skirt}

DSC_2513

I haven’t been doing outfit posts for a while….but I have some amazing new pieces that need to be pictured soon.

The post was inspired from a hat, which many of my posts are. I found my new wool hat at a garage sale on my street for $7 dollars. It’s not Fall yet, but I know I’ll be getting some use out of this hat soon. If you are looking for great accessory pieces for cheap, scope out garage sales in Los Angeles on the weekends. LA peeps seem to be collectors of great fashion and costume pieces, then they have too much and end up getting rid of a lot of it…I usually never leave a Saturday Garage sale day empty handed.

My top is one of my newest FAVS – how I love a silky floral patters, especially ones that have a little flow to them. I picked it up when I was asked to work at  a fashion event at a darling store in Venice you may know, Ecookie. They have some really great pieces and most pieces are under $100. They carry a good size amount of a LA based line that I had never heard of, EVERLY. Their pieces were really on trend and I ended up walking out the door with the floral kimono top (pictured), a long floral maxi skirt, and a maxi dress. All easy to wear, perfect Summer pieces. Working the event was well worth it!

Shoes – Sam Edelman ; Bag – Garage Sale (Hermes knock off .. I got ripped of but still like it); Skirt – Forever 21; Top – Everly; Sunglasses – RAEN Optics; Hat – Garage Sale

The tribal trend is still showing influence on all the great pieces out in stores these days. I love the long chain earrins with beads, only $19.60. {Prairie Girl}

two

Such a gorgeous evening in the hood. You should of seen the views, and so peaceful. After viewing Vanessa Bruno’s Pre-Collection styling last year, who embodied a complete peasant feel, I was inspired to get in on the fun. Never having worn my hair like this, go easy please, I attempted to create the prairie look with the cross braids headband. The outfit came after the braids, indeed.

I’ve worn my maxi skirt from  a  lot over the past few months and spent only $20. I usually dress up maxi with my black leather jacket and black booties, but I also try to play off the neutral tones like today. I’m transpiring a BIG LOVE feel, but of course in a cute fashion sort of way.

Also, of course have to pay tribute to the wedges. I climbed that crazy hill you see above, and those babies didn’t let me fall. Charles David always makes the most comfortable shoes.

Hope you all enjoy the first day of Summer. It’s 8:19pm and still light out, love it! xx

{TRICKED, Into Having An Amazing Time At The Opening Of 2B!}

The last time I styled one of these events, we were assigned to a store in the mall and given two models, to style. When Kelsi Smith, Founder of Two Point Oh LA, contacted me about participating again I was more than happy to oblige. What I did not know, however, was that WE were going to be the models! Full stage, center court, speaking on the microphone – MODELS!!

After a couple deep breaths and picking my first outfit, my nerves began to subside… PHEW. My partner Marci and I, from Fringefries.com, decided if we were doing this, we were doing it RIGHT! {Which of course includes dancing down the isle and having a good ol’ time on the microphone}

Our task was to find four looks from the new 2B store in the Westfield Culver City mall and present them on stage to the crowd. The price points were great, ranging all around $30-$40 the pieces were on trend – floppy hats, wide leg pants, crochets and feathers.  Each entire outfit came out to be around $100.

All of us bloggers had a great time!!  The Bebe corporate running the event were so friendly, the staff at 2B were so sweet and helpful and the crowd at the mall was the BEST. Everyone was there to have a good time, that’s for sure, and all in the name of fashion.

Here are a few pictures from the event. Go to Culver City Facebook HERE to see all the pictures and please, vote for us! The winning team gets $500 and you have a chance to win as well. xx

Fall Brights || DRESS: H & M

Shoes – Doc Martins From High School (yep, 10 years ago), Dress – H $ M ($24.99), Scarf - Sample Sale CMC ($15)

I both love and hate taking these outfit posts. I love it because well, I’m a girl and I love taking pictures, but I hate it because lets face it, I’m not a model and they don’t quite turn out the way the pictures look in Vouge. But, alas, I’ve started to be a little more comfortable standing infront of my tripod posing for self timer (as long as there is no one else around!)

So here, today, I’m loving this dress I picked up for $24.99 (gosh H & M rules) and this scarf I just found at a Sample Sale while I was doing a pull at the California Market Center downtown LA for $15. My original thought was MOM + EARLY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING, but it really grew on my and went with my outfit, so I think I may  have to keep it.  I like the way bronze and golds go with blonde hair, and I’m also digging the contrast against the bright pink.

The dress is yes, hot pink. I don’t have one other thing this color in my wardrobe but after always buying nuetrals, I realized it’s nice to have  a little pop every once an a while. I’ve been inspired by the runway’s bold bright colors for the season!

My shoes are crazy enough, Doc Martins!  Is this company still around? I haven’t bought the workman boots yet, that are everywhere, so these work now and again to achieve the look.  I found a pair of black flat boots with a wide cuff at H & M for $49.99, which I’ll probably go back for soon.

I also bought some cute nude booties from H & M that I’ll wear to dress this up. The leather is not the greatest, but people for $24.95, it was fine with me!

H & M ($24.95)

Military Trend Parka || H & M $39.99

Okay, I’ve tried to stay away but when budget calls, H & M always comes through with amazing pieces for less.  After meeting Claire Thomas, photographer for Refinery29,com LA Editon,  in the cutest H & M Military park  last week at the Vanessa Bruno store in Melrose, I had to chase down this military jacket down – for you, and for me. So, here you go. Viola!

Leather Bracelets, Big Watches – let me re-introduce Ler Mer Collection

One of my first posts ever of last year, I did a post on Le Mer Watches. I wanted to resurface the collection as they still seem to as popular as ever.

OAK NYC, one of my favorite places to shop, keeps  selling out of these babies! Talk about trend forecasting….

Four reasons Le Mer watches rule:

One – I like big watches.

Two – it’s easy to achieve the ‘multiple bracelet’ look in one.

Three – Leather bands are awesome. They take a girly outfit to edgy instantly.

And lastly, they are reasonable price around $100!
