One of my all time favorites from The National. I was reminded of how much I love this band over a dinner the other night. Hands down this is one of their bests.
Dublin native James Vincent McMorrow announces his first North American headline tour that kicks off September 8 in Philadelphia and currently runs through September 24 in Los Angeles.
His music has compared to Bon Iver and Ray Lamontagne.
James’s critically acclaimed debut album, Early In The Morning, has brought him to the U.S. and his music has already appeared in TV shows. After this tour, I would expect him to gain a huge recognition and following here in the U.S.

In real life they go by the name of Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell, but as DJs they remain anonymous, having yet to release anything under the name Flight Facilities. The duo claim to be from Trinidad and Tobago, but widely known to be from Sydney, Australia. Not sure what these two are up to in their undercover status, but their remix “Crave You” featuring Giselle Rosselli, has many taking notice receiving considerable airtime on the Australian radio station Triple J in 2010.

Kieran Hebden (born 1980, Putney, London, England, United Kingdom) is a post-rock and electronic musician who goes by the name Four Tet.. His sound and melodies incorporate elements of hip hop, electronica, techno, jazz, and folk music. Jon Hopkins, a London-based producer and musician on the rise, does a beautiful ambient mix of Four Tet’s song.

This is why I love LA: last Thursday, after our day at work we popped over to Amoeba Records to see a free show with Theophilus London. Maybe it was because we were two feet away from the stage, maybe it was the style, but something made me fall for this guy. And trust me, you will too.
London has found a perfect balance of fashion, music and dance, reaching a wide range audience. The cool kids definitely made an appearance, but so did the real kids. He brought two kids on stage that knew ever word by heart.
London is pop enough for those that don’t like hard rap, sweet enough for the top 40 crowd and hot enough for all the fashionistas out there. His dance moves should have another post entirely, so fluid!
He entered the stage wearing his signature hipster sunglasses, skinny jeans paired with hightops and topped it off with some gold bling hanging around his neck, of course. His style is unique, fashion forward but not selling out. We’re impressed!

Ahhh, finally I found something new that caught my interest today after listening to many, many songs. RJD2, a college of cut-and-paste Hip-Hop mixed with Electronica, Rock, Trip hop, Lo-fi, Nu jazz, this guy will for sure be keeping you on your toes!
Born in Ohio, lived in Oregon for sometime, now residing in Philly, Ramble John Krohn (RJ) began his career DJing in 1993 with a pair of turntables bought from a friend. He claims his name originates from another friend who referred to him as “Rjd2″ in his raps, and the name stuck (Wikipedia). He’s worked with Radiohead and continues to produce, along with working with many independent rappers, such as Copywrite, Cunninlynguists, Cage, DOOM, Diverse and Aceyalone.

This is what heaven sounds like – a beautiful done remix of Cocteau Twin’s Cherry Coulored Funk by Seefeel – as it’s nothing but soothing. Seefeel’s music lies somewhere between dream pop/shoegaze and ambient techno/Indie Dance Music. Stylistically, at the top of the creative boundaries, in comparison to the average band. Great music for film, for any filmmakers out there.
