If you’re reading this, you’re probably not at Coachella this weekend, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be inspired by all the great fashion. I love dressing like a modern day hippie – chic, effortless, and ultra cool. This Saturday Style is about combing GLAM with hippie chic for a super fab summer Saturday.  And if you’re still shopping for next weekend’s Coachella festivities, it’s not too late to buy online.

{Channeling Rachel Zoe}

Pants – Rachel Zoe Tori Pant via Loehmanns Buy HERE // Orange Tank Top – borrowed from my mom // Jacket – Current/Elliot Jean Jacket via Loehmanns buy similar HERE or HERE //  Hat – Garage Sale buy similar HERE // Bag – H&M // Rings – Tracy Matthews

Lately I’ve been obssessed with Rachel Zoe. She’s always chic, boho and looking fabulous while being comfortable. I found a part of her super wide leg floral pants and Loehmanns and new I’d get a lot of use out of them, especially for Spring 2013. It’s all about FLORALS! I wanted to add pop of color for daytime while still keeping it casual, so I added my go-to jean jacket which I adore. (Another steal from Loehamanns) I have been wearing it with almost everything – definitely a MUST HAVE for any girl’s closet. I use mine for dressing down any dress or outfit that I want to make a little more casual for day or weekend wear.

We love Rachel Zoe- I’ll be back with more ways to style these fun pants soon. Have a great rest of your weekend. XOXO SWP

{LACMA + Sequence}

Street Style at LACMASequened dress at lacma

pink and white dress

I love this dress. I’ve been called “Carrie Bradshaw” before, mainly when I have curly hair, but this dress really makes me feel like Sex In The City – LA version, of course, and who wouldn’t want that?

There is something to say about sequence –  it  can really make an outfit pop. I wanted to tone this overly girly outfit  down a bit, so instead of wearing a simple heel, I wore a black bootie, which gave it a bit of edge. Another way I love to add a bit of edge to an outfit is with a leather jacket. If you don’t have one, invest! If you feel your outfit is a little to dressed up for the occasion, try switching up just these two things and it can really make an outfit cool, instead of too fancy.

We had such a good day on Sunday. We wandered around LACMA shooting, playing, relaxing in their adorable cafe – it was, a perfect Sunday.

{Valentine’s Day Inspired}

Untitled-4

Valentine’s Day is next week (is it really almost Spring?!). You may be coupled up thinking everything in ‘his’ and ‘hers,’ or, you might be thinking what item have you been lusting over so that you can treat yourself and show just how much you love, YOU! What better time to splurge on yourself and celebrate YOU.

Either way, I found some items that will delight the fashionista, tech-y or the artsy girl alike.

One of my favorites are the adorable artsy Jeff Koons inspired bears (pictured above) that caught my eye on AhaLife (I call them interracial love bears!). One is sequined gold, one sequined black – all around adore.  I love seeing people from different backgrounds fall in love – I think it’s beautiful.

For the blogger-ess who can’t live without her iPad, I suggest their men say “I love you” by engraving a little note on the back of her iPad.  It’s perfect as their lady will always have a reminder of them while spending time with his biggest competition – her computer!

For the coupled up hubby and wife, I adore the black and white ‘his’ and ‘hers’ pillows from Anthropologie. Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be cheesy all the time, right?!

{Printed Pants in Fall Leaves}

If you follow my Instagram, you probably have noticed I’m obsessed with these beautiful leaves lately! I love the seasons and it’s nice to know Los Angeles actually does have them, at least a little.

My outfit today was inspired from these lovely printed pants.  A bold pant is easy to outfit as the rest of the outfit can be pretty simple (blacks, whites, etc). These pants are one of my recent purchases from the Kelly Wearstler sample sale. If I could, I would shop all year long at sample sales, as I still can’t really believe how well I did.  I will be posting more on this to come, but be sure to sign up for Daily Candy for their daily newsletter if you haven’t. They list all the great sales in town!

For the top, I’ve always wanted to try out the the cropped look. A bandeau is a great purchase and you’ll find you use it all the time. Of course you need a jacket or cover-up to wear with it, so I threw on my employees only inspired zipper jacket!

I wouldn’t suggest wearing this out in the day, but for a night time out with your girls or a funky gallery opening, go for it! For a more causal look, this can be paired with a simple t-shirt and wedge booties.

XOXO, SWP

{Earthy Tones on a Rainy Day}

 It was a rainy day in Los Angeles and it was one of the first times I had a chance to wear my new scarf, compliments of  INDIGENOUS. I discovered this eco-fashion, organic and fair trade line just recently and the scarf is so soft, I could almost sleep in it. I’m wearing the Tassle Scarf, which is made in Peru.

We hear the term a lot, but what does Fair Trade really mean?  Green gifts are the ultimate opportunity to promote sustainable living and prove that fashion can be as wonderful to the planet as it is to wear.  When shopping holiday, it’s important to think that maybe your gift can change someone’s mind and help them appreciate the beauties of organic and Fair Trade Eco Fashion!

I’m also wearing new dress by Kelly Wreastler that I scored at her holiday sample sale this season.

I hope everyone is having a great holiday season so far!

Hugs and kisses.
