Today’s post I’m trying a pattern that’s new to me…Houndstooth. This is the first houndstooth dress I own and also the first houndstooth pattern at all. What do you think?
What originally drew me to houndstooth dress is the structure and the high-low aspect. When the dress arrived I was impressed with the shape and fit, but didn’t expect the thickness of the dress. It’s a little heavy to wear but also nice because it’s not see-through!
With spring here, it’s getting me thinking a lot about dresses. I want to wear pieces that are comfortable but also stylish. One of my all time dresses is from Cosette clothing – the cut is perfect and the material is so comfortable. It’s something you can wear all year long.
With each new season, of course I start thinking about shopping – these boots look so comfortable and chic. In order to style them well (I haven’t made the purchase just yet), I’ve been on a hunt for a few flirty floral dresses that will go great. While I love wearing heels, I’m always trying to find dresses that can go with flat to keep my life realistic. The houndstooth dress I’m wearing in this photo was originally worn with white sneakers – cute, but I think the girl should be taller in order to pull that off. I’m only 5’4.
