When the weekend is free and the sun is out, it’s an optimal time to have a picnic. Here in Los Angeles, that seems to be every weekend, so it’s time to invest in the necessities. My boyfriend was kind enough to come along with me last weekend, but I LOVE picnicking with me friends, too. Seriously, what could be better than an afternoon spent in the park relaxing with small bites, drinks and some of your favorite gals?

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

A basket for carrying everything, a blanket, pillows (optional) magazines/books for reading, drinks of choice and some food to snack on. My wine of choice was this pretty bottle from Traders Joes ($6.99) and Target carries the most amazing Cranberry Cheddar cheese (delicious when paired with these sweet/salty flax seed crackers).

WHAT TO WEAR

Keep it comfortable and light, like this floral dress ℅ BePop. It’s made in France from silk cotton, so it’s comfortable to wear all day long. Wear a pair of flat boots so you can run around in the park with your boo and a hat, to keep the sun out of your eyes. And, I never leave home w/o my Karen Walker Eyewear (I’m obsessed).
