Home re-design requires a lot of planning, work and time but the end result can be magical, and worth it! I’ve been thinking about how I want to re-design my living room and home and I wanted to share some of my inspiration and planning with you.

STEP ONE: The first step when trying to achieve a look (whether it be in fashion or home fashion) is to find your inspiration. You’ll need a very clear image of what you want to achieve the desired look.
Here’s a few things I do know about the look I desire: I like a clean, modern room but it’s very important to me that the room is inviting and not stuffy. I love white, golds and neutrals with pops of color and usually stay away from overly complicated rooms with tons of clutter. The last thing, and most importantly, I like a variety of different looks and if I just buy things randomly (like in the past, whoopsies) the room may never have that cohesive feel that I’m craving. If you hire a interior designers, they will always say this: you have to plan ahead time to make it all come together.
STEP TWO: The second part of planning a room is deciding what your canvas will be. After pulling together imagery and finding what I like, I’ve noticed I tend to gravitate towards a neutral or grey walls. I visited Clark+Kensington which is ACE Hardware’s exclusive line of paint and browsed their beautiful color palate. Noticing all the images that I’m gravitating towards, I think a very soft grey would help me achieve the look I want.
One thing that is amazing about their paints is that they have a primer and paint in one, which will cut half the time. It’s low voc, which means it’s a environmentally friendly paint and it’s supposed to dry in half the time, which means you’ll be able to enjoy your room that much faster.
STEP THREE: After you chose your desired look and painted your room, the next steps is decorating and buying the pieces. It’s clear from the images above, I pretty much need a Morrocan rug in my living room. I think they add so much to the first two images. The second thing I know I love is a white couch and white widow panels. I think white is so romantic and you can switch up your decorating easily every year if you’d like to with a white base and grey walls. Below are a few items on my list for my redesign.
