{Spring Suits, Short Suits}

Short Suits Spring 2013  Trend

There is something charming about a short suit. It’s classy without being too stuffy and while they’re definitely ‘office appropriate’ they’re playful enough for a night out. Tory Burch, Jason Wu, Elie Saab were just a few of the designers who recognized this wearable yet stylish take on menswear for Spring. While you can keep it chic with a pair of heels, I also love a more casual, edgy take on the suit. Add a wedged bootie or chic hat and you’ll be sure to stand out, in the best possible way. Shop my picks below – I adore the floral suit – tres chic!

{1 Pair of Jeans, 4 Ways To Wear Them}

Look ONE – The Elegant One

A white pair of edgy jeans can transition seamlessly into an elegant look with a little gold and a little shimmer.  A fitting sweater keeps it classic and a sweet, elegant heel will add a softer appearance.  Add a little bling with a classic cocktail ring and a good bracelet and you’ll be good for brunch in Beverly Hills.

Edgy, sexy and fashionable is the way you’ll be described when wearing this look. I love the combination of white, black and gold – it’s simple and sophisticated. The blazer adds class to the outfit and a bootie with a skinny heel add a sexy feel. This is a great dinner outfit in any city and is also sexy enough to carry on the night for an evening of dancing.

{Oh, The Wonderful Things About Fall – Scarves!}

While you may not be shopping for scarves in Los Angeles, for the other parts of the world (the normal ones), you’re probably pulling out the sweaters, boots and enjoying your pumpkin lattes as you stare out the window at the beautiful orange leaves. Oh, how I miss the NYC seasons! I did however, enjoy a few days of cold weather when I visited San Francisco, and the crisp air in the mornings made me ‘oh-so-excited’ for fall.

Other than being cozy and wonderfully warm, a scarf is an accessory that can take an average outfit and make it adorable, just by adding a scarf. I love black and white, as I think it goes with a lot. I also still adore chunky knits, which I’ve posted on times before. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with oversized piece, and I love the options these day for scarves that offer a thick material with length, such as the one offered by Beryll. Muted tones go with everything, while a pop of color can be fun too. So many options below, I hope you enjoy the transition into fall. I’m so ready – how about you?

{Trend Watch: Printed Blazers for Spring}

Although the nights remain cold, the days are getting warm and with 20 days until the first day of spring, now is the best time to prepare your wardrobe. Say good-bye to heavy knits and wool peacoats and say hello to loud and playful prints! This spring, printed blazers are in and make a fun layering piece to your everyday looks. They’re fun for work and fitting for happy hour with friends. If you’re feeling extra bold, mix and match prints! Another major trend this spring. A little trend report I put together in InDesign :). Who’s ready for the sun?!

{ RED ALERT – 2010 Fall Trends }

“Only great minds can afford a simple style.”

The beauty of this trend, is the class and effortless beauty of such simplicity.  It could be compared to the classic black dress, but it makes much more of a statement.  RED came to focus this season, but primarily as a bright orange red rather then deep red.  Dresses made with such bold color,  are complimented well with a simple neckline and a touch of girliness – a bow, extended shoulders or an extended skirt line.  Any way you do it, this trends says  ‘confidence’, paired with ‘classic taste.’

With such a bold statement, there are some things to consider:

DONT go too tight

DON’T go too short

DO simple styling ( a belt, and simple or simple necklace)

DO add tights (but only sheer or black)

DO make it girly
