Happy Holidays, friends! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas with family and loved ones. I spent mine in San Diego in 80 degree weather! I couldn’t believe it, but then again I could, because that’s Souther California for you.  I enjoyed it but I’ve always wanted a white snowy Christmas! Maybe one year. :)

I’ve been searching the internet high and low for some of the best deals for after Christmas. It’s the time of year where retailers literally mark everything down and try to get their season’s product to move as fast as possible. It’s THE best time to buy.

Sole Society Booties: To start, I’ve been eyeing these booties in cobalt blue for a couple months now and haven’t made the purchase. They are now marked down to $40, such a steal. I bought them in blue but they also have them in red and grey.

Lauren Conrad Tulle Maxi Skirt: I wanted this in color, but for $30 I think it’s great in black too. I’m going to add a belt and wear it with a white crew neck t-shirt with a touch of bling around my neck.

Black & White Skirt: This is another amazing find, for only $25 plus 20% off when you sign up on Facebook and share your purchase link! I saw my fellow fashion blogger wearing it a while back and it looks great on. There’s tons more from SheInside that you’ll have to check out while you’re there. Faux Furs are the must-have of the season and this one is only $40. Wear it with black leg gins, boots and a simple t-shirt. If fur is too much, this cobalt blue jacket is another fab find!

Shop the rest of the goodies below and let me know what you end up getting! Have a great day beauties. XOXO

JEANS – c/o CLOSED old style but similar here and here // Velvet Blazer – Nordstrom old but love this hereLevis(30% off) and Tommy Hilfiger’s Velvet Blazer (only $100) // T-Shirt – c/o For Love & Lemons // Ipad Case Used as a Clutch – c/o Benah // Boots – c/o Neiman Marcus Last Call //Rings – c/o BERRICLE

Today’s post is about resurrecting old pieces and making them new again – like this velvet blazer. This piece is a true testament to the fact that when you spend money on a quality piece, like classic blazer, you’ll have it for years to come and it’s a great investment. If you don’t have at least one or two good blazers in your wardrobe, INVEST. I’d say anywhere from $300-$500 is a fair amount to spend and you’ll be happy you did. Their appropriate for work but also a night on the town, or stroll on a Sunday.

I also was recently was contacted by BERRICLE. They had some prices on a few really simple timeless pieces, like their eternity bands for everyday wear. They go perfect with gold or silver and can be worn all the time.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and don’t forget to sign up for daily emails to the right. Also, if you haven’t already seen it, check out my new post on The Daily Scrubbers! I’m talking 5 Fashion Rules To Break.

Saturday Style | Floral Blazers

There is nothing that says spring more than a FLORAL BLAZER!

You’ve seen them on celebrities like Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, and Lauren Conrad, from red carpet functions to daily street style outfits. Get flower-bombed and styled for the season with one of these amazing blazers.

What to keep in mind

Blazers are all about fit. If the blazer is not fitting you right, it doesn’t matter how much you paid or the type of pattern, it’s going to look off. Try to find a blazer that fits right in your arms, isn’t too tight in the shoulder but it should be fitting. Sometimes it’s best to go a size up and take it to a seamstress if it doesn’t fit you perfectly.

How to style..

Dress it up or down – both styles work great. It’s often seen dressed down with a pair of skinny jeans and heels, but can be thrown over a maxi (shown above) or paired with a  high waisted skater skirt to make it extra girly.

Saturday Style | One Dress, Two Ways

This week’s Saturday Style was inspired by Mother’s Day. What are you wearing? Chances are, you may be going to brunch and for a day of shopping or relaxing, so I’ve put together two outfits from one dress.  Outfit one is definitely more dressy but I love a pop of color with a nude or neutral. Maybe you’re going to a nice evening out, or a fancy brunch? The look is entirely from Zara and the shoes are only $50 dollars – we’re obsessed. Look two, is definitely a bit more casual and adds a touch of edgy cool to an overall chic look with the leather jean jacket by Rag & Bone.  Felixs + Adrik has amazing unique accessories I definitely encourage you to check out if you haven’t already. She’s a talented designer and a long time friend of mine. While you don’t have any bold colors in look two, it’s safe to pair a bright lip for a little pop of color. I love a great red lipstick – tres chic!
Wishing you a stylish weekend with your Mother, or if you’re a mom, enjoy and I hope you are filled with all the love in the world. You deserve it. XO, SWP

I had the honor of listening to the amazing Drew Barrymore at Lucky FABB a few weeks back and I’m very excited to share it with you. After meeting Drew and seeing her in person, it’s safe to say that almost every girl in the room left with a girl crush. She has a way of making everyone feel special. In fact, she even made us feel as though we were the cool ones, as bloggers now have the power. Imagine that..

She launched her beauty line, Flower Beauty, which I posted on before. She spoke to Lucky Magazine’s Editor In Chief on life, babies, motherhood, beauty and how she manages to do it all. That lovable character that we all adore in the movies is exactly who she is in real life. Watch for yourself. Not to mention, cute outfit! Drew, we just love you…

I hope you enjoy! XXX, SWP

**Disclaimer – I’m sorry the footage isn’t better, it was a last minute decision to capture this and all I had was my phone.

a soolip wedding

As you know, I don’t cover weddings, but I was invited to an event that was too good to pass up. A Soolip Wedding, the highly anticipated modern bridal annual event, returned to Los Angeles at the prestigious Bel Air Bay Club last Sunday. The vision of gracious-living guru Wanda Wen, A Soolip Wedding has established notoriety as one of the wedding industry’s most prolific events. I was very excited to attend and see the beauty brought together from so many different vendors all surrounding the theme, “Crystal Showers, Eternal Flowers.”

One of the highlight as included a fashion show from America’s most established jeweler, Black, Starr & Frost, and a fashion showing of avant-garde bridal couture line, St. Pucchi, food and small bites from Good Gracious, and really beautiful, artifully designed cakes from Charm City Cakes. The event was also sponsored by Town & Country Weddings.

I’m not close to getting married (at least I don’t think) but know exactly what I need if I need to do so. More event coverage to come and if you are getting married, make sure to check out Soolip Weddings for beautiful stationary and wedding suggestions.
