I’m sorry I haven’t been around all week, it was crazy busy with work and I am also hosting an event next Saturday in LA. It’s been taking up so much of my time, but it will well be worth it. I really can’t wait!

This post was inspired by a piece I picked up at the TopShop shopping preview at The Grove. I love the color and print of this body conscious dress. Emerald was announced as the color of the season by Pantone, so I was happy to pick up a piece to add to my wardrobe.

It is somewhat of a tight dress but it’s still conservative; long sleeve and crew neck. I definitely recommend it for all shapes and sizes – it’s a flattering piece. There are so many ways to style it but I’m always a fan of layering with vests – jean vests, fur vest, you name it. I picked up the jean vest from Loehmanns for $20 – total score since it’s Current / Elliot. My new boots were also a great purchase since it’s end of the season. I love Chloe and these are by their diffusion line, SEE by Chloe.

If you read my blog often you know I definitely do not take myself too seriously and I am really a goof! We had a little fun at the end of our shoot trying to perfect the ‘jump’ pose. HA. Sometimes you just have to be a little silly, you know?!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend. I have plans to lay on the beach with friends today and bask in the sun (yay!), then an amazing wedding event for bloggers and media at the Bel Air Bay Club, Los Angeles tomorrow. My amazing brother bought me Lakers ticket, so that will be tomorrow night – I can hardly wait! I haven’t been to a Lakers game since a little girl. Lately, I’ve been inspired to travel, and I’ve been inspired by living in this great city, Los Angeles. What I enjoy is on any random occasion, you can meet someone from across the world, living here in LA. Not too long ago I met a German man who was visiting for just a few days. He had the most amazing sense of style and accompanied us to a Angeleno party. He wore a bold pair of mustard Levis, a black shirt and black sports coat  - something not many men would be brave enough to wear.  His pants were the talk of the party and it was clear had a sense great of style.  Quite the gentleman, as well. Today, I met an Italian man, which was part of the inspiration for today’s post. We’re having coffee this week and it’s a good reason to dress up a little more, as they do in Italy, right?!

Often times in Los Angeles we dress very casual, as overall, we live in a laid back culture. I sometimes wish that wasn’t the case. Something I appreciate about Europe is the elegance they exude due to the way they dress. Think Parisian women, of course, but also, Italians. Every so often, it’s nice to feel like a lady, elegant, classy, and chic. This outfit is appropriate for work or a chic brunch with girlfriends. I’m not saying I’m getting ride of my beanies and leather jackets, or edgy fashion, that will always be a part of me, but sometimes it’s nice to switch it up.

{Winter Day in Los Angeles}

DSC_0346DSC_0371DSC_0307It’s officially winter and Los Angeles was feeling the cold weather this weekend – brrrrr! I’ve been spending a lot of time in doors these days, enjoying the Christmas tree, making dinners and hanging out with friends at the apartment. But when it’s time to get out, the layers are key! I love leather jackets and feel it’s always a great way to incorporate a little ‘rocker chic’ into your outfit. It was freezing and starting to rain but we took a couple snaps in the neighborhood, followed by a delicious cocktail at Messhall and pizza at Little Doms. Quite the perfect day if you ask me! Wishing you all wonderful times with friends, family and more.

{Printed Pants in Fall Leaves}

If you follow my Instagram, you probably have noticed I’m obsessed with these beautiful leaves lately! I love the seasons and it’s nice to know Los Angeles actually does have them, at least a little.

My outfit today was inspired from these lovely printed pants.  A bold pant is easy to outfit as the rest of the outfit can be pretty simple (blacks, whites, etc). These pants are one of my recent purchases from the Kelly Wearstler sample sale. If I could, I would shop all year long at sample sales, as I still can’t really believe how well I did.  I will be posting more on this to come, but be sure to sign up for Daily Candy for their daily newsletter if you haven’t. They list all the great sales in town!

For the top, I’ve always wanted to try out the the cropped look. A bandeau is a great purchase and you’ll find you use it all the time. Of course you need a jacket or cover-up to wear with it, so I threw on my employees only inspired zipper jacket!

I wouldn’t suggest wearing this out in the day, but for a night time out with your girls or a funky gallery opening, go for it! For a more causal look, this can be paired with a simple t-shirt and wedge booties.
