Sometimes you just need to drive, and that’s exactly what I did. I hit the pavement with my girl Chole (you know, my pups), and we headed up the 101. There is something about the central and northern coast that is straight magical! I stayed the first night in a charming guest house located on a farm in Arroyo Grande (10 mins outside of SLO), and boy is it beautiful. Waking up to say good morning to 16 horses that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
Following my morning of feeding hay and hanging with these beautiful creatures, I headed up north to continue my journey to a little town called Mill Valley. I was amazed of all its beauty; let me break it down for you. These gorgeous homes, that look like they’re straight out of Dwell magazine, sit in the mountains surrounded by 50ft trees. The town of Mill Valley is home to a restaurant from celebrity chef and Food Network star, Tyler Florence, cute boutiques and arts festivals. One will feel inspired, creative and relaxed simultaneously while being there. If you need your city fix, which I definitely do, you hop on the Golden Gate bridge and you’re in San Francisco in 15 minutes. If you’re craving the beach, head west for 10 minutes to find some of the most divine caves on the beach you’ve ever seen!
So it’s obvious, I had a wonderful road trip, but we also managed to find some time to be fashionable amongst all the nature. My favorite, as anyone who reads my blog would know, is combining high fashion in nature. I adore the juxtaposition of the two. These were taken just steps from where I was staying. I love the futuristic looks combined with the trees. I hope you enjoy! xo
