Style Wax Poetic Monthly | August 2010

The month of August is at an end and it’s the first day of September, wow. Life flies by, and so do the posts on blogs. The disadvantage of reading from a blog, unlike reading from a magazine, is that great information can be here and gone in a few days.  I’m starting a ‘Monthly Round Up’ post which breaks down everything I covered in August.

Music Mondays featured Ra Ra Riot, Animal Collective, School of Seven Bells, and Blonde Redhead. As usual, most Music Mondays feature a free MP3 download.

Summer Style With Friends featured Jen Elias, Fashion Editor of SJ Helium, Flor De Maria, PR specialist and blogger at Flor De Maria Fashion and Payton McClure, Fashion Designer living in New York City.

Stone Cold Fox | LADY BOTANICA

Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to get into Stone Cold Fox’s booth at Project to see it in person, but the designers sent over some photos from there lookbook for their new collection, Lady Botanica.  Have a look!

I love the last look – sheers, ladylike and lovely.

New Designers You Must See – STONE COLD FOX

“Fashion goes round in circles. ”
Siobhan Fahey

I’ve been meaning to write a post on these amazing duo designers from STONE COLD FOX  for sometime after first discovering them at Westerly Boutique. Two childhood friends, who collaboratre to bring vintange pieces and inspiration back to new. I’d describe the line as hippie chic, with a bit of gypsy, silk flowy lines, and perfect porportions. They’ve essentially remade the 60s/70s with modern cuts, you can almost feel the LOVE!

I’ve been obessing over the DRIFTER BLOUSE and JAGGER PANTS, and just slightly less obsessed with all the other pieces, slightly.  If I had ONLY 10 things in my closet, if they were all from Stone Cold Fox I feel like my wardrobe was complete. Tons of staples like sheer flowy blouses and dresses that can take you to the beach, brunch, or out. The Jagger Pants, well, those I will be wearing just about everywhere once I buy a pair.

Gypsy Decay, their second collection, has just been released. For online shopping, find them @  REVOLVE CLOTHING or SHOP PLANET BLUE. Check their site here for in store purchase.
