So, there was that one day I decided to try to go without my phone for one FULL DAY in honor of ABC’s new show Selfie – that means no Instagram, no emails, no text, no Tinder (if you’re into that sort of thing), no calls, and sitting in lines without entertainment. You get it, NO phone. Shocking, I know.

Because I already know I’m a little bit of a mobile maniac, I wanted to give this whole phone cleanse thing a shot. One word: FAIL. I mean how do I get to my event without directions, how do I not check my emails, and I need to text my date back for dinner plans. Bottom line, I realized going one day without your phone is nearly impossible. But hey, it’s 2014, and I’m TOTALLY ok with that.

I will say, I really enjoy some time away from my phone and when you don’t need to get a hold of anyone, make plans, drive anywhere, or have a life-ha, you should totally try it. Start with leaving your phone home at dinner, then work your way up to leaving your phone off for more time.

While I’m definitely addicted to my phone, I’m not addicted to TV, but I do appreciate a really good show, especially a fun light-hearted comedy that anyone into fashion and social media can relate to. In ABC’s new comedy, Selfie, social media-obsessed Eliza Dooley wants to give up “likes” to be liked and learn to live in the real world. And let’s face it, we all could benefit from a day of living in the moment and taking our heads out of our…cloud.

I’m excited to watch the premiere of Selfie tomorrow night on ABC (8pm/7pm CT). Grab a girlfriend or two, wine, popcorn and your night will be complete. I promise.
